In this famous guitar riffs lesson we will a quick look at the opening guitar riff for “Love In An Elevator” by Aerosmith.

This riff is actually quite fun to play and also provides a nice little alternate picking workout.

In this Love In An Elevator guitar lesson we are gonna tackle this bluesy and rockin little riff note-for-note.

Guitarist Joe Perry used the E blues scale for the most part to create this catchy and fast moving opening guitar riff.

Pay special attention to the little shift in the middle of the riff. Fingering the riff in that way will help you avoid some awkward left hand moves and also prepare you for playing the second half of the riff.

I pretty much use straight alternate picking throughout while playing the riff. Because of that, this Love In An Elevator guitar lesson can be a great picking workout.

“Love In An Elevator” was the lead singe for Aerosmith’s Pump album, and the song became and instant classic making it one of Aerosmith’s most successful singles.

Let’s see if you have what it takes to play it!
