    the first riff I've done that sounds like it should. are you lifting your second finger of the e string to play the open a string then putting it back on or just holding it on?

    And let those strings ring out when you play this! I'm sure Andy was playing it stiffly and robotically for simplicity and demonstration sake, but no need to let off of a fretted note every time you go to the other string.
