Do you or your guitar know that most great guitarist can't read sheet music? Does it make you a great musician? Probably not! Hmm! Brainstorm, spend more time playing and less time trying to learn theory. In the beginning, learn ear training and learn pitch. It will educate your playing and dictate how fast you learn to play music 🎶. Then when your a great prodigy you can go to GIT and learn what your ears have already taught you!

I just looked up "imperfect fifth". You need a different tuning system from the sixteenth century.

If you have trouble applying this to the fretboard you need to google two diagrams. First a chromatic one that shows all notes on the fretboard and then the major scale diagram. It’ll all click trust me.
